Floyd Newsum
Painter, sculptor, and printmaker Floyd Newsum earned a BFA from the Memphis College of Art, TN, and an MFA from Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, Philadelphia.
Newsum's work can be found in the collections of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture, Washington, DC; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX; and University of Maryland, College Park, among others.
Newsum lives in Houston, where he pursues his art and works as a professor of art at the University of Houston.
