Frank Smith

Frank Smith is a painter and textile artist born in Chicago, IL. He earned his BFA from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and an MFA from Howard University, Washington, DC. He was a founding member of AfriCOBRA (African Commune of Bad Relevant Artists) in the 1970s. His work can be found in the collections of the DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago, IL; Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD; Walter E. Washington Convention Center and Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC; and Oakland Museum of California, among others.
