Jo Yarrington

Kathryn Jo Yarrington earned a BFA and MFA from Ohio State University, Columbus. Her drawings, book arts, photographs, and architecture-based installations have been shown in exhibitions in the U.S. at Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefied, CT; Yale University and Artspace, New Haven, CT; Museum of Glass, Tacoma, WA; Chashama, Artists Space, and Grounds for Sculpture, New York City; Contemporary Jewish Museum, San Francisco, CA; deCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, Lincoln, MA; Odetta Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; and the Humanities Gallery at Long Island University, Brookville, NY. Her work has been exhibited internationally at Galeria Sala 1-Centro Internazionale d'Arte Contemporanea, Rome, Italy; Centro de las Artes de Guanajuato, Salamanca, Mexico; Christuskirche, Mainz, Germany; and Glasgow School of Art, Scotland.

Yarrington received fellowships from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation; New York Foundation for the Arts; Joan Mitchell Foundation; Cill Rialaig Artists Residency, Ireland; MacDowell, Peterborough, NY; SIMS Residency, Reykjavik, Iceland; Ucross Foundation, Sheridan, WY; American-Scandinavian Foundation, New York City; Leighton Artists' Colony, Banff, Alberta, Canada; Brandywine Workshop and Archives, Philadelphia; Pennsylvania Council for the Arts; New York Foundation for the Arts; and the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.

In 2001, Yarrington represented the United States at the Sharjah Biennial, United Arab Emirates. In 2010 she won the Bronze Prize at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Skopje, Macedonia, and in 2012 was represented in the Berlin Biennale.
