Patricia Smith is a printmaker and book artist. She earned her BA from Immaculata University, Chester County, PA; studied Japanese woodblock printing at the Yoshida Hanga Academy, Tokyo, Japan; and earned an MA from the Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts). Smith is an Alumnae Artist member at A.I.R. Gallery, Brooklyn, New York.
Her books are represented by the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY, and by Vamp and Tramp Booksellers, Birmingham, AL. Smith’s work has been exhibited in Brooklyn and elsewhere in New York City; Philadelphia; Paducah, KY; Seoul, Korea; Venice, Italy; Lorca, Spain; Paris, France; Tokyo, Japan; and other national and international locations.
Smith’s work is in print and special collections at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria, Egypt; Brooklyn Museum, NY; Yale University, New Haven, CT; Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, among others.
Smith lives in Philadelphia, where she is a professor and coordinator of printmaking at the University of the Arts.
