Ron Bechet

Painter and printmaker Ron Bechet was born in New Orleans, LA. He earned a BFA from the University of New Orleans and an MFA from Yale University, New Haven, CT.

Bechet’s work features figures from the natural world as well as stylized and colorful landscapes. It has been exhibited nationally and internationally at institutions including the Acadiana Art Center in Lafayette, LA; Delfina Studio Trust, London, UK; and Palma Gallery, Robert Bruno Gallery, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, all in New Orleans. He has collaborated on pieces and in exhibitions with John T. Scott, with whom he shared studio space for many years. His work can be found in the collections of the New Orleans Museum of Art, Tulane School of Law, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, New Orleans. 

Bechet is involved in community outreach as one of the founding members of the Porch Cultural Arts Organization and as co-director of the Home New Orleans Project. He lives and works in New Orleans.
