Ronald Rumford

Ronald Rumford was born in Fort Meade, MD. He earned a BFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and attended the Tyler School of Art and Architecture program in Rome, Italy.

He has exhibited his work at institutions including Rosemont College, PA; Ballinglen Gallery at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ballycastle, Ireland; Lynn Dunham Fine Art, Bridgehampton, NY; Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia; State Museum of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg; Heat International Print Center, New York City; McGowan Fine Art, Concord, NH; Silas Kenyon Gallery, Provincetown, MA; Florida Guild of Craftsmen (now Florida CraftArt),  Saint Petersburg; Locus Gallery, Saint Louis, MO; and Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia.

Rumford has received awards including the Hugh & Marion Scott Prize from Woodmere Art Museum; an SOS Grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts; and the Lorraine & Ben Alexander Painting Award from the Cheltenham Center for the Arts, PA. He received residencies from the Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Ireland; Littleton Studios, Spruce Pine, NC; and Brandywine Workshop and Archives, Philadelphia.

His work is in the collections of American Express and J. P. Morgan, New York City; Barnes Jewish Christian Hospitals (now BJC HealthCare), Saint Louis, MO; Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission, NJ; Jurys Custom House Inn, Dublin, Ireland; La Salle University Art Museum, Philadelphia; Bank of Ireland, Dublin; Neiman Marcus, Paramus, NJ; Pepsi Bottling Group, Philadelphia; Philadelphia Museum of Art; and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
