About the Work

From the Artist

Printmaking is a gateway to conversation with meaning. It allows you to work with others the way no other medium can.

In a world where the politics divide communities. When even families have fissures within them. Print, through this ability to communicate, has a purpose.

Printmaking is a communication tool that is very effective. It has been in use for more than 500 years.

My artwork is as much about the process as it is about the image created. It has many elements that are drawn from my experience as an immigrant as well as tradition, and abstraction.

I use my artwork as an element to start conversations. It doesn’t tell a story on its own. I always like to talk about the process that led to its creation, because sometimes it interests me more than the final product. My artwork is not a narrative in the traditional sense, because it doesn’t tell a story or narration of events on its own, I have to explain and give background information.
