I Placed a Jar.... contains dense layers of green that form the shape of a jar in the center of the print. Predominating colors inside the jar are yellow, brown, blue, and green. At first glance these colors appear to be a pattern. When the paper is held sideways the jar becomes a forest landscape. The artist's objective is an illusionism apparent only when studying the work from different positions. The title of the print provides clues necessary to understand how to look and experience the visual pleasures offered by nature as expressed in the print.
