An image was produced on a Macintosh computer in Adobe Photoshop. Separations were made and printed out at 8” x 10” in black and white on glossy paper. These prints were blown up and turned into film approximately 12”x15.5” because this photographic precaution is imperfect and could have led to substantial degradation of the image. If elongated further, further hard work was necessary to create a border. Designs were produced on full size mylar…
In the future I hope that Brandywine [Workshop and Archives, Philadelphia] will be able to alter artists' full-size color separations directly from the computer and add hard work in between the necessary to offer the subtle qualities offered by the "by hand" approach.
