Shigeko Kumabe

Shigeko Kumabe was a Japanese printmaker. She earned an MA from Tama Art University in Tokyo, Japan, and attended The Women’s College of Fine Arts (now Moore College of Art & Design) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her work has been exhibited internationally at exhibitions including Falu Biennial En Nya Grafiker in Sweden, Peter Stebbins Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts; Gallery of Modern Art in Katowice, Poland; Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art in Japan, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, and John Szoke Graphics in New York. Kumabe also won the Kanagawa Prefectural Board Education Award.
