Jean Woodley

ARTIST/ART EDUCATOR (RETIRED) PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART & SCHOOL DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA

A graduate of the University of the Arts, Jean Woodley spent the majority of her active career as the School District of Philadelphia’s liaison educator at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (PMA). As a museum educator working with K–12 students, teachers and administrators, Jean taught and developed interdisciplinary programs and wrote cross-curricular materials for both museum and classroom settings. With a concern for cultural and gender inclusion, Woodley’s programming focused on exhibitions and works of art that could be most engaging and meaningful to students, families, and educators in Philadelphia and beyond.

In addition to serving as the chairperson of the Brandywine Workshop and Archives board of directors, Jean is currently on the Education Advisory Board of the Woodmere Art Museum. Woodley has also served in advisory positions at other venerable art institutions including Moore College of Art, the Barnes Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA).
